Testimonials

Our daughter comes home from ballet practice excited and energized, and she loves, loves, loves Miss Laura’s class.  Her teaching has not only made our daughter a more confident dancer, but a more confident person.  Thank you for the positive impact you’ve had on our daughter.” – Kelly and Brian (parents)

Columbia Dance repeatedly has surpassed our hopes for being a place in which our daughter is able to embrace all of who she is now and all of who she is becoming as she matures.  Dance is a fundamental part of how she experiences the world. During these unprecedented times, dance has been her peace, her sanity, her joy, her grounding and her flight, her way of coping with today and hoping for her future. Columbia Dance is more than a studio, a school, a place to learn– it is where lives come together to create, to strive, to challenge, to be more in one moment than they ever dared imagine could be possible. ” – Lynn (parent)

“While I did not pursue a career in dance, there were a lot of life lessons I learned at Columbia Dance that have been hugely important to my career. The first was time management, balancing dance commitments with school prepared me for the balance of working, research, and classes required for my scientific degrees. In addition, working with the same dancers and teachers everyday taught me important teamwork skills, which have come into play with collaboration in science now. The most important for me is that having a balance of the arts and sciences in my life is important for my happiness, I’ve chosen to pursue a career in science with dance as a hobby, but I love being able to support the arts in my community and my alma mater at Columbia Dance.” – Caitlin (alum)

“Columbia Dance is my second home.  It is a community of friends that makes me happy and excited! I love Columbia Dance and it is always the best part of my day. “ – Sage (student, age 8)
